Music, Music, Music

We have had a really busy couple of weeks.  A majority of our time has been focused on programs, concerts, recitals or practicing for one of these events.  Last Saturday we took a little trip to Pleasant Grove to look at a violin for Jake.  It was time for him to give back the one that he has been borrowing from the school.  He was very nervous about being without one this summer.  His sweet piano/violin teacher offered to let him borrow hers for the summer but...no need.

We found the perfect violin for Jake!  We found it on KSL. A cute mommy from China was selling her son's violin.  He decided that he needed to just focus on his piano studies. When we went to see the violin, Jake was being shy about playing it in front of the family selling it.  The ladies son gave us an amazing demonstration and Jake smiled and said "We'll take it!".  He was so excited.  He saved money from babysitting and the sale of his horse saddle and was able to pay for half of the violin.  He is awfully proud of it.We found an old favorite while exploring Pleasant Grove.  The kids were so excited to see a Pizza Factory.  We decided it was the perfect lunch spot.  Not quite as good as Cedar City (we may be just a bit prejudice) but it was yummy enough.  

As an added bonus, Grandma and Grandpa Wells were in Pleasant Grove at a funeral.  Can you believe it?  What luck!  We spent a little while visiting on the lawn of the church that they were at.  It was good to see them even if just for a few minutes.

Finally, Thursday was our spring piano recital.  I am so ready for the kids to move on to some new music.  They worked really hard and did a great job.  I am so surprised that they don't get nervous.  Neither one of them would speak to you but they are sure glad to play the piano for anyone who will listen.  Strange.  Here is some video for the grandparents.  I had a little trouble uploading the videos, so they are broken up into two different posts.  Enjoy.
