Too many cooks in the kitchen.

Hello all! We were chastised by Poppy for being tardy with pictures this week so we added a few extras to make up for it. Jake has been learning to cook the last few weeks. He really enjoys being in the kitchen and taking part in the meal prep. He has a few little things that he can make unassisted for snacks. His favorite dinner to make is spaghetti. He loves to stir the meat as it browns in the pan. I have also included a few photos of his sous chefs Katie and Lydia.
Katie is in charge of the salad prep. She washes and tears the lettuce and sprinkles in the other veggies that mom chops for the salad.
Lydie doesn't have a cooking job but can't stand for anyone else to be standing on a chair and not be involved. She was helping with the laundry earlier in the day and put on a pair of elmo panties over her outfit. She kept smiling at me and saying "pretty". This is my cue to comment on how great she looks in Katie's Elmo Granny Panties. I bought this particular pair at Ross for next to nothing. I think that they were left over from the 80's because I have never seen a pair higher cut in the waist and lower cut on the legs.
While we were cooking dinner the other night I heard Lydia crowing for cheese. I ignored her and carried on with my duties and after asking a few times she decided to help herself.
Our move to Salt Lake has been a dream come true for Aaron. For those of you who don't know, he is a 7-11 junky. We have a 7-11 about half a block from our house. On the weekends we make a special trip to 7-11 for a slurpie for the kids. Aaron chose this very large cup becuase the clerk assured him that it was refillable and would only cost him .75 next time he got a slurpie. Lydie is the keeper of all "juice" in our family. In this picture she is sizing up the cup and getting a handle on the slurpie action.

Since clothing is such an important part of our day I thought that I would include a picture of the average outfits for our girls. To show just how opposite their interests are, here is a picture of Katie in her Halloween costume that she wears over every outfit. She does change her shoes several times a day.

Lydia on the other hand strips off what ever you dress her in. She prefers to be as free as possible. The one thing that she will not go without is shoe-ha (shoes) she has gotten in the habbit of putting on her pink cow boy boot (usually just one), often on the wrong foot, with what ever she is wearing. Ahh... the life of a fashion icon.

This weekend we enjoyed spending a little bit of time with Daniel, Rosaly and Andrew. They came to dinner Saturday night. The kids really enjoy Andrew. They enjoyed their meal at a table set for four. (only the best of dishes) Lydia especially enjoys Andrews visits. She does whatever she can to anoy him. He is not quite sure how to take her teasing but she sure enjoys the challenge. In closing we would like to wish all of those that we love a Happy Valentines Day.
