Sick of being sick!

We have had a very interesting week. Lots of snow, fun, tears and COUGHING. Last Sunday we were returning from our weekend trip to St. George for our Grandmas birthday party. Lydia slept most of the way and when we went to get her out of her car seat we discovered that she had a high fever. By Tuesday all three kids had a fever, cough and a few other undesireable symptoms. We called cousin Jodi for a pediatric referral. She sent us to Holladay Pediatrics. They were very nice and even gave each of the kids an otter pop while we waited for Katie's strep test to come back (it was negative) . We ,however, did not leave empty handed, 5 prescriptions. Jake had a sinus infection/cold and an ear infection, Katie had a sinus infection/cold and a throat infection and Lydia had a sinus infection/cold and a really bad exema break out.
We had a really long week of crabby kids, sleeping (in the day time not at night). I slept upstairs on the hide-a -bed on Monday and Tuesday night to be close to the kids. (I was averaging 5 trips upstairs a night) By Wednesday night Aaron joined me upstairs. We hope to sleep downstairs in our own bed tonight. Everyone seems to be feeling much better and sleeping most of the night. Jake missed three days of school this week and spent a lot of time trying to help me entertain the girls and keep their minds off feeling yucky. One of our favorite tasks was dressing Lydia up in his scout stuff. She thought she looked pretty good.
This week Lydia discovered lip gloss. She is a big fan of Mary Kay. Everytime I turn around she was in the makeup drawer giving herself a makeover. What a girl.
Today we went to the baby blessing of Joshua Wells Maestri. He is as cute as hecan be and a very nice baby. Jennie served a very nice lunch and we enjoyed good company. The kids really enjoyed the outing and playing with cousins.Being the (huge) foot ball fans that we are we are having snacks and trying to pay attention to the Super Bowl. We make Guacamole, Mozzerella sticks and nachos. We are trying to create an experience for Jake. We were in the kitchen making snacks and he start shouting "Mom, Dad, come see they got it in the hoot!" I think he ment hoop, wrong game. He has watched the whole thing, everything except for the half time concert. He thought Tom Petty was old and wanted to know why they hadn't gotten the Jonas Brothers. He is all kinds of hip. Love to all.
