Summer fun is in the air. We are enjoying having Jake home from school. We have been trying to enjoy the nice days when they come. We had a few cold days this week but a few nice ones too.
We have been having lunch in the park each day. SLC school district has a summer lunch program. They offer school lunch in several parks and schools for children 18 and under. We went to the elementary school for lunch one day this week. The girls think that it is really fun but I think that Jake is kind of over school lunch.
I found this car for Lydia at Thrifty Towne. She thinks she is quite a girl. She was so excited to find out that her "har" had a "hee" in it. (key for those who aren't up on Lydia's language.)
Here is a shot of our garden. Our tomato plants have a lot of flowers on them, they are looking good.
Katie helped me sort some m&m's this week for the cookies that we made for the pinewood derby. We made stop light cookies. They were kind of ugly but the kids thought they were great.
Lydia tried to do her part with the sorting too.

My kids love park lunch. It is quite the social event-all their friends are there! Best of all, they (the oldest three) can ride the few blocks to the park by themselves, while Max and Bree nap so I can have some quiet time. One of the joys of podunk life. : )
