A "Boo"tiful Halloween

We had such a great Halloween Day. I knew that we would be busy, busy, busy all day long so Aaron took the day off of work to help out with all of the festivities. We started our day with a very spooky breakfast of skeleton pancakes and ghost hot chocolate. The kids loved it.

Jake who is a huge fan of chocolate in general was thrilled with the idea of chocolate, chocolate and more chocolate for breakfast. They all made quick work of their breakfast and were soon on to the rest of the days activities.

Katie got to wear her costume to preschool. She was very excited to show off her dress to her friends. They also had a really cute parade and program for the parents.

The next few pictures are of Katie and a few of her preschool buddies. The videos are of the songs that they preformed. Sorry they are just bits and peices.

This is a picture of Katie and her amazing teacher Ms. Rie (Marie Pop) She does a wonderful job teaching the children in her class. It is obvious that it is not just a job to her. She really loves the children and takes great pride in them and the things that they learn. Everything she does is a fabulous production.

Immediately following Katie's parade we had to go to Jake's school for his Halloween parade and class party. I was glad again that Aaron was home because Lydia was not up for sitting still for parade watching. They waited long enough to see Jake and they headed home for lunch and a nap. I stayed and made a witches brew for Jake's class party. It was a short day at school so we only had about 25 minutes for a party following the school parade. The kids played a few games, made a brew and ate a treat and home they went. Too much fun.

We rested for a few hours in the afternoon before Jake's piano lesson and then suited up for our evening events. We picked up a pumpkin (shaped not flavored) pizza from Papa Murphey's Pizza and then went out for a photo shoot.

We were glad that the only costume piece that Lydia chose to take off was her back pack. We knew that she would leave a costume on, that was why we chose Dora, simple. She only wore her back pack for half of the evening so most of the time she looked like we didn't bother coming up with a costume for her. She was just a little girl who's clothes don't match. Perfect for Lydia.

Jake was looking pretty smooth with all of the facial hair. This is a sneak peek into the future for him. He looks great with a braided beard. (I sure hope not)

Aaron was very creative with his costume this year. He stole a piece of Jake's beard/mustache and made himself a flavor saver. That paired with the coon skinned cap was a real winner.

Our ward had a social at one of the house in the ward. You just stop by, have a treat and continue on your way. It was fun to see everyone in costume.

I found these cute Halloween jams on sale at The Children's Place last weekend. I was so excited to take the kids picture in them last night. As you can see, not everyone cooperated. Lydia was just too tired. She looks good even in the middle of a major melt down.

This is a picture of Jake and his class on crazy hair day. Our theme for that day was "Drugs can be hair raising". It was a lot of work but lots of fun too.

For those of you who are wondering, Red Ribbon Week was a huge hit. My committee was awesome and the ladies worked really hard. Everything came together nicely and I am almost excited to do it again next year.
