A trip to Zion

As part of our quick vacation we went to Zion to stay in the Hotel that Aaron's brother Nate manages. It is called the Cable Mountain Lodge and we recommend it to all. It was really nice and you can't beat the surroundings. The park was beautiful and full of lots of people

The highlight of our Zion trip was ridding on the shuttle. All of the kids thought it was great that they could ride without a seat belt. This was especially appealing to Miss Lydia who always wants to ride in the "back seat" (front seat). She is a little bit confused.

Katie wanted me to take a picture of her with every rock and pebble.
It was a really hot day and Aaron and the kids enjoyed a wade in the river. It was nice and cool.

Grandma joined us for a short hike and a picnic. Grandpa came up later in the evening and went to Harry Potter with Jake, Aaron and I. Grandma stayed back at the room and watched the girls. The movie was good and it was fun to watch it on the huge IMAX screen. I think that it was a little bit scary for Jake but he will never admit it.

Katie spent most of her time digging in the dirt. We only took one short walk to the start of the narrows hike but Katie and Lydia didn't make it the whole way. They just wanted to sit in the sand and dig with sticks and rocks. Truth be told they just wanted to go back to the lodge and swim.

We had a great trip and it was fun to see all of our family. We are home bound for a few months while we wait for our new baby to arrive. I think our next trip south won't be until Christmas. Everyone will just have to come here to visit us. See you all soon.
