Yesterday was our first big real snow of the winter. The kids were so excited when it started to snow. Lydia wanted to go out immediately and play in it but we talked her into waiting until after lunch to give the snow time to build up. It took us quite a while to get everyone outfitted in their snow gear. I do not miss that about winter time. Once everyone was bundled up and outside I settled in on the couch with a blanket and high hopes of an hour or so of quite time. That didn't happen. The girls kept coming back in for new gloves. They didn't want snow on their gloves but weren't willing to keep quit touching the snow.
First set of mittens. There is a minor hat malfunction.
The hero, leader of all snow activities including snow football.
The girls, glamming it up in their winter wear.
The obligatory snow angel.
Jake was excited to be out in the snow. He really wanted to build a snowman...
or an ice sculpture of ET.
ET wearing Jake's fancy new hat knitted by Bub.
And this is Miss Maggie's idea of good snow day activities.
Jake was quick to check on Maggie after he warmed up. As you can see, she is just fine.
