This week we made several attempts at being festive. We spent our family home evening looking at several lots for just the right tree. We decided on a small one because we are spending the majority of the holiday in Southern Utah. We chose this chubby little tree and spent the next several days creating paper chains, decorating and waiting for Daddy to put the lights on.

Here it is, all decorated and still leaning.

Lydia came down with a nasty cold this week and spent a lot of time on the couch watching TV. She managed to share her cold with baby Maggie. Maggie has had a stuffy nose but doesn't seem to be developing any other symptoms. Hopefully the stuffy nose will be the extent of this illness.

When attempting to feel festive, sugar cookies are always in order.

Lydia quickly tainted the frosting by continually dipping her knife in the frosting and licking it off. YUCK.

Lydia's really yummy looking cookie.
I decided that all of the extra work creating holiday activities for the kids just made me grumpy. Tomorrow we will take it easy.
