This week was the science fair at Jake's school. I was not very excited to find out that his teacher required participation as part of their science grade. We had one failed project (surprise that nothing will grow in SLC in the middle of the winter) and then came up with this one. A real winner!
Jake and Aaron came up with this project and Poppy just happened to be here to help us carry it out. Jake burned different kinds of nuts to determine the fat content in the nut.
He measured the weight of the nuts before and after the burning. The difference in the weights were really interesting.
He learned how to use this cool scale that we borrowed from Poppy's school.
Recorded all of his data in his cute little science fair note book.
Nuts after burning. Don't you just want to sprinkle these on your salad?
All of the nuts before they were burned.
Jake was really careful while weighing everything out.
We found out yesterday that Jake's project is going on to the district level.

Way to go Jake! I guess the science fair will consume yet another week of mom's life.
