Look out world, Lydia is 5!!!

Where does the time go? This baby girl is 5!

I couldn't help but post a few of our favorite baby pictures of this crazy girl.

The festivities started off with a bang. On Tuesday the girls were surprised with a trip to their first dance class. This was their main birthday present. They were both so excited. Lots of jumping and screaming at our house. Here they are...admiring themselves in wall after wall of mirrors.
Wednesday morning began the first official day of festivities. Lydia had requested rainbow pancakes for breakfast.
Bubby and Poppy were even in town to help use celebrate. They got to see Lydia at her best at pre-school. There is no place she would rather be.
For dinner she requested spaghetti and meatballs which are still on her face in the next picture. Lydia's sweet primary teacher brought her a beautiful cupcake. In classic Lydia form, she shared with her brother and sisters. She is always thinking of others. (The cute cupcake runner is courtesy of The Bub.)
On Friday we hosted a fabulous rainbow party. I made this shirt for Lyd to wear to the party. Bubby did the fancy stitching on the rainbow.

The weather was so very nice. I think it was in the low 70's. We quickly made a few changes to our party plans and moved that party outside.
Jake was home from school on Friday. (he broke out in a terrible rash following the rainbow pancakes, I think it was due to the intense amounts of food coloring). He suggested we quickly throw together an Easter Egg hunt. Jake and Katie hid the eggs and then Jake gave very detailed instructions to the guests.
Poor Lydia took a dive while delivering her birthday invites which make for very glam close ups.
Here are some shots of our fabulous guests.
We colored rainbow bags for our egg hunt, strung rainbow bead necklaces,

played musical squares to Lydia's favorite tune "Soul Sister" by Train,
and ate 8 layers of rainbow cake.
Big shout out to the cake. It was a pain, therefore, lots of photos.

I think that the kid's favorite part was the candy and bubble gum available in abundance on each table. I found chewed up gum all over the yard.
Lydia received lots of fun gifts. Thanks to our friends.
And here is the whole party crew minus Jake and Maggie who thankfully was sleeping.
We are gearing up for Katie's birthday on Tuesday.
