It has been a busy week for us. The girls and I went on a field trip with the preschool group from our ward. We went to the Sweet Candy Factory. We went on a tour of the factory and were able to sample a few yummy treats. We learned how taffy, jelly beans, orange sticks and lots of other treats are made. The most interesting fact of the day was that it takes 7 days to make a jelly bean. WOW, think twice as you eat your easter jelly bean treats. Lydia was less than cooprative about wearing her hair net, but we made it through in one piece.
At the end of our tour they gave each of the children a bag of taffy. We could not have been happier.
On Friday Katie and I had a girls day out. We drove to Riverton to cousin Jennie's, where we rode along with Jennie, Emma, Ellie and baby Josh to a craft fair in Pleasant Grove. Barbie and Kelsie met us there and we had a wonderful time looking at froofy crafts and girly things. After the craft fair we went to Barbie and Kelsie's house for lunch and play time. Katie was loving all of the girly playmates. She and Kelsie especially got along well. It was a great day out for two crazy ladies.
On Saturday our ward had an early Easter egg hunt. This is a picture of Lydia running to join the fun. She was really excited to see what all of the kids were up to.
The Primary had prepared a bunch of activities for the kids to do. There was Bunny twister, bunny ring toss, coloring, crafts and cookies and carrots to eat. Jake particularly enjoyed the cookies.
Jake and his friend Evan thought that the bunny twister was fun while eating cookies. Jake has made lots of good friends here in our ward. He loves scouts and looks foward to it more than any other event during the week. I got a second calling today in the ward. I am going to be the Den Mother for Jake's scout group. It should be lots of fun.
Katie and Kenzie enjoyed the coloring and craft table. They love to be together and act silly. ( For those who don't know, Kenzie lives in the other half of our duplex. We love her.)
Lydia's favorite event was the bunny ring toss. I don't know if anyone else got to play because Lydia carried the rings around with her when she was not playing. Sorry to the other kids.
After the Primary party we decided to make use of our zoo pass and spent the rest of the morning with the other wild animals in our neighborhood. It was a little bit chilly but the kids didn't seem to mind.
They had a special snake exibit on Saturday and Jake and Katie got to pet the snakes. They had the non venemous ones out of the cages and the zoo keepers were showing them off. I couldn't believe that Jake and Katie would touch them. I was not at all interested in touching a snake.

The funniest part of the trip to the zoo was courtesy of Lydia. We were in the monkey house and Lydia was in her stroller watching the monkeys. I heard her little voice say "A Puppy!" (She calls most animals puppies) and then she stuck out her little pointer finger and said "Deet Dow Puppy." It is fun to listen to her as she talks more and more. What a cute baby she is.

It's fun to read all of your newsy updates--we're glad to see Wells Family watch is up and running again! :) (p.s. I try to limit my snide comments to my brother Justin's blog, so you won't get any complaints from us!)
My name is booty and I approve this blog entry.
It's a little sad for us to be lonely in Cedar when you are romping around in all of our favorite Salt Lake hangouts. Do you realize our choices for fun places to take toddlers to play indoors in Cedar City is McDonalds or Del Taco? So sad! Live it up in the big city, we wish we were playing with you too.
PS- Hey Sarah, a really great community service would be for you to post your weekly menu on your blog. It would ease the burdon of those of us who are domestically challenged. Pretty please?
What an outpouring of support for your recent postings. Just goes to show you, the effort is worth it, even if you are thoroughly harassed in the process.
