Almost one month from Katie's birthday I have decided to finally write a post about the big event. I know, I am very ambitious these days. Katie had a great week. It included going to school, a favorite activity, a few parties and a visit from Bubby and Poppy. Pretty good for a 5 year old little girl.

Katie's birthday fell on Conference Sunday this year so we started our parties on Friday. Katie attended school as usual where she received the royal treatment from Miss Rie and friends. She had fun being the star of the show a school.

Lyida and I picked Katie up from school and we rushed home to get changed and set up for yet another princess party. The the party theme is getting quite repetitive. Maybe next year she will choose another theme? (We can only hope.)

This is princess Katie all dolled up for her party. Notice that her birthday cupcake name tag magically traveled from her school dress to her princess dress.

Even Lydia got dolled up for the party. Isn't she lovely? It was Lydia's party also. She invited one friend and Katie invited the rest of the girls.

Here they all are. We had a lovely time twirling, painting nails and doing makeup, eathing lovely treats and opening presents. It was a great party and Katie felt like a real princess.

The rest of the weekend was just as exciting. Bubby and Poppy arrived Friday night and attended the morning session of conference. We got ready for the family party. Aaron made dutch oven potatoes and cooked some london broil on the BBQ. We had lots of fun guests including, Riley, Lisa and family, Jason, Liza and Family, Dan, Rosaly and fam, Bubby and Poppy and the five of us. It was crowded in our little house but lots of fun.

The girls received many of nice gifts from their family and friends. One of the favorites was new princess nightgowns and Easter dresses from Grandma and Grandpa Wells.

We gave the girls new bikes.

This is Lydia riding Katie's.

Another favorite gift was the Playmobile castle from Bubby and Poppy. It is for both the girls but Lydia doesn't often get her hands on it. Katie is in charge of it. It came with a really great crown, but alas only one. The next photo is of Lydia stealing a rare moment with the crown.

By the end of the weekend Lydia was partied out. Sunday morning, Jake and I attended conference with Bubby and Poppy while Aaron stayed home with the girls cooking crepes for Katie's actual Birthday. (finally, the big day arrived) She is loving being 5 and is just as cute and sassy as when she was 4.
