We have officially made the switch to whole wheat bread. This was one of my nutritional goals for our family for 2010. Hopefully it lasts. I thing that everyone is done complaining now. (Aaron?) I have been trying to find ways to make food (wheat bread) more interesting to distract from the fact that it is wheat bread. There was a fun idea in the Family Fun magazine this month for PB&J Sushi. Here it is.
It is really easy and lots of fun.
First you cut the crust off of two pieces of bread.
Then you roll it flat with a rolling pin.
with PB&J and roll it up.
Cut into 1 inch rounds.
It isn't quite as colorful as the picture in the magazine because they used white bread. Oh well.
Katie was our biggest fan. She loves peanut butter sandwiches but has resisted the bread change.
She ate it all up and asked for more. We have eaten it three more times this week.
Lydia was a little concerned at first,
but decided it was A-OK. Try it out on your little ones at see what they think.
