Happy Arbor Day to All!!!

Today in honor of Arbor Day we went to Red Butte Gardens. It was less than spectacular after our week of winter weather. The trees were in blossom and the daffodil's were out but that was about it. I think that it could be fun when everything is blooming but today it was free thanks to an Arbor Day celebration. What better reason to go. Katie and Lydia are always on the watch for "popcorn popping". There are a lot of trees in bloom right now in Salt Lake. Our little neck of the woods in Sugarhouse is lovely.
Our Arbor Day celebration was complete with Woodsy the Owl and Smokey the Bear. Katie was so scared of Smokey and would not pose for a photo so we settled for our buddy Woodsy. She was having no part of him either. This photo was posed especially for Poppy. It is near the fish pond. We didn't see any fish other than this one. We did see a really neat waterfall though. Sorry no picture.

The sprinklers had been on early this morning and some of the plants were still frozen with ice. A lovely spring day in the north.
Katie was in heaven. Our good friend Kenzie joined us in our celebration. They had a great time running ahead of the group and getting their shoes all muddy.
A quick pose by the daffies for the Bubby.

We stopped for a lunch of star shaped peanut butter sandwiches, fish crackers and fruit snacks. Life doesn't get any better then that. We had a great day and more excitement to come. Tonight...Costco.
